Is a small landlocked country bordered by Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Burma and China.
There is very little industry, 80% of the population work on the land, life expectancy rates are low and illiteracy high.
The country ranks among the United Nations 50 Least Developed Countries.
A large part of the country is still littered with unexploded ordnance from the Vietnam War.

Welcome to the LEOT web site. We are a UK- registered charity working to help disadvantaged young people in Laos fulfil their potential. Please spend a few moments looking at what we do.

If you have enjoyed the experience of watching the Mekong flowing lazily along, the tranquility of the shrines and temples, the hustle and bustle of the street markets and the friendliness of the Lao people then we hope that maybe you will spare not just a thought for those who are less fortunate but will give something more......

There are an awful lot of youngsters who have no chance of a proper education unless you help!
