LEOT’s 2nd Art Exhibition

This is LEOT’s 2nd Art Exhibition to be held at the French Institute on 26 Jan. We have found many of our students are excellent artists and photographers and therefore holding a public exhibition of their work is a wonderful way to showcase their work to others and hopefully be a source of revenue for them, for any works sold. It is also a way to raise awareness of the work of the LEOT School in the local community.

The LEOT Centre is located in Ban PhanLuang. The school is now in its 7th year of teaching with an all Lao staff of 7. It is a UK-based NGO supporting Lao youth in Luang Prabang with both classes in English and IT being held through the week and on Saturday mornings. Its continual operation relies on donations from individuals and charitable organisations.

English speaking volunteers help provide conversation sessions between regular classes and run workshops, such as art and sewing. This year LEOT has begun an environmental group which meets once a week, with students interested in how they can take better care of their environment.

LEOT also is involved in community projects throughout the province and assists poor villages with water, electricity, furniture, painting, some building and books and equipment.
