One of our LEOT School teachers, Lu, has discovered the joy of reading books this year.
Earlier in the year, our staff were encouraged to start reading English books from our small library at LEOT. They borrowed several books over a few weeks, but Lu just kept on reading.
He loved the book “Little Women” and when asked if he would like to choose a book prize, he said he would like a book on the life of Abraham Lincoln. A famous leader. That was a surprise! We couldn’t find one here in Luang Prabang, so our volunteer Clare, from Australia, arranged to get a copy there and bring with her.
This week, we presented him with his very own book. He feels very proud to have his own special book and says he will enjoy reading it very much.
He has begun already!!
