Sengaloun Keosisavath

Background Submission

Lar is the youngest child in his family.  He aspires to become a Policeman by taking the more advanced 5 year program offered at the Vearnkam Policy Academy in Vientiane.   If he is unable to find the resources to study in Vientiane he will pursue a lesser program available at the local Teacher's Training College in Luang Prabang, where he can live at home.  Becoming a policeman is Lar's dream job.  His father was a former policeman and is now retired.  Lar says that he would like to become a policeman to help to combat the rising problem of drug abuse among young people in Laos today.  He feels that this role will provide him with better opportunities to promote safer communities for kids and their families.

Following a very successful internship at the Police school, Lar is now attending university to study Politics and Law.
