Community Projects

LEOT for many years has worked on community projects from rubbish picking to school repairs and from emergency projects to rural school building and water projects. Most projects were  relatively small.

In 2019 LEOT increased its focus on community projects and the building of rural schools. Schools are selected on need the ethnicity of the community plays no part in the selection of projects. LEOT will complete the building of its eighth rural school by the start of June 22. contracts have just been signed for the ninth school.

Many rural schools were built 30 years ago with poor quality materials. These building have deteriorated and have leaking roofs. Due to a lack of maintenance they are dirty and inadequate. LEOT selects villages with a minimum of 50 children aged between 5 and 11 and a maximum of 120 children. This enables LEOT to build 3 room or 5 room schools.
